PHYS 504 -- 1 -- Special Relativity and Classical Electromagnetism 2019W

Calendar Description: Boundary-value problems, Green's functions and multipole expansions, magnetostatics, Faraday's law of induction, retarded potentials, Poynting's theorem and conservation laws, gauge invariance. Propagation of electromagnetic waves. Presentation of radiation from moving charges, classical electron theory. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.

Prerequisites: A background in electricity and magnetism such as covered PHYS 401 is highly recommended.
